SALLY BIONDO

Makeup Artist

When Sally Biondo was a little girl she dreamed of becoming a Makeup Artist. Her grandmother, Sally Biondo, being the artist of the family was always encouraging Sally to draw and paint. They spent endless hours together in her Art Studio coming up with new projects. Sally's imagination was always conjured up by her grandmother's creativity. Her grandmother let her experiment with all her makeup while no one else would! She is a wonderful example of art and beauty for Sally. One day in her early teens Sally remembers walking in the city with her father…coming across a launch for Kevin Aucoin’s first book on makeup artistry. Upon remembering seeing him on TV as a well known make up artist…she was drawn in…and walked away with his book in hand. She couldn't keep her nose out of it…opting to stay in and read for many nights to come. When having girlfriends over sally would use them as her muse and soon earned the nickname “beyond imagination artist” from family and friends.

That childhood vision became a reality when she achieved her first job in the business at age 18. Landing the position of Makeup Artist for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics at Saks Fifth Avenue, Long Island. It was only a few short months later that the company figured out they had a gem on there hands and promoted Sally to Counter Manager. Sallys dreams crossed over to actress after taking one class. Studying with reputable mentors within the business, lead to appearing in many theater productions throughout New York City. The combination of these two made her fall in love with the arts completely! Sally decided to throw school into the mix and got an Advertising Art Degree from Farmingdale Institute of Technology. Later Sally also graduated from the Gloria Francis Beauty School and continued working  for companies such as MAC, La Mer and Trish McEvoy.

Long Island was home but Sally felt the itch to move to the big apple full time. Sally got a job working at an upscale salon on Fifth Avenue as there ‘in house makeup artist’ and ‘skin care specialist'. The acting auditions continued and at the age of 23 Sally realized she had a young face when she'd look around to see a room full of 15 year old girls competing for the same part! Next it was working as business manager for London based Pout Cosmetics, at Henri Bendel in NYC. Sally made a name for herself by dramatically increasing their volume through her talent, appeal and innovative ideas.

All this led to opportunities for Sally to express her talent to this day by working as a makeup artist in NYC…keeping busy through editorial work, photoshoots, plays, weddings, and runway shows for designers such as Elizabeth McQueen & Marc Ecko. Above all Sally enjoys working one on one and making a difference …."I am a true believer in freedom of expression, without it there isn't much else". Sally's passion is genuine and this is also seen through her love for the environment and animal rights.
